One Client’s Journey to a Functional Garage

After we decluttered, our clients could easily access their bikes, gardening and yard supplies and other items necessary for outdoor use.

After we decluttered, our clients could easily access their bikes, gardening and yard supplies and other items necessary for outdoor use.

From the time Liz and Paul* bought their suburban Boston home over 25 years ago, they never parked in their detached one-car garage. The garage stored toys for their kids, items for their business, tools and supplies for their lawn and gardens, and extra supplies for their home.

Before we decluttered.

Can you tell what was in the garage? Neither could the clients!

But no, their actual cars never made it inside the garage. Now the kids are grown, the business has been sold, and selling their home is on the horizon.

So begins the story of why they hired Living. Simplified. to come in and help clear out their 142-year-old garage. The space has now been decluttered (see above photo), items were given away at an “everything is free” yard sale, and now, if they want, they can park their car inside.

Having a Yard Sale.

The quickest way to get rid of unwanted household items is to have an “everything is free” yard sale.

But habits are a funny thing. At the moment, their cars are still being parked on their driveway. But at least they can find everything they are looking for that is now stored in the garage.
